Sociálni demokrati kontra komunisti pred parlamentnými voľbami v 20. rokoch 20. storočia na Slovensku

Two strong left wing tendencies- a socialist one and a communist one left significant mark in Slovakian politics during 20s of the 20th century. They used to form a unity, afterwards they became politic competitors. They agreed on some political topics but they disagreed on others diametrically.
It was possible to note disharmony between socialist and communist wings in Czechoslovak Social Democratic Worker's Party at the end of 1918. It was a reflection of international situation after World War I and events of 1917 in Russia when two wings were being established in the whole socialistic movement: reformist i.e. social democratic wing and revolutionary-communist one. They were divided mainly by their opinion on dictatorship of the proletariat preferred in Russia. The Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) originated from Social Democratic Party in 1921 and its nascency caused disruption of social democratic organizations in Slovakia due to the fact that a large number of their members entered KSC.
The election year of 1920 appertained to Social democrats. It had become the strongest political party in Slovakia, even the whole CSR since they won the parliamentary elections. General strong influence of socialistic and Bolshevik movements was spreading around all Europe in those times. It was not easy to accomplish pre-election promises and the party were weakened by departure of many members to a newly established communist party. The communist party took over agenda of social democrats but step out onto the path of more radical ways of election fight and obtaining of power in the state. KSC had experienced a huge success, mainly during 20s of the 20th century but social democracy managed to arise from thumps, it went over from coalitionist governmental circles to opposition and gained a new breath at the end of 20s in the 20th century.
